What is Gundam?

Gundam, a popular Japanese science fiction media franchise, has a dedicated fan base in Australia. The franchise, which began with the release of the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979, has since grown to include multiple anime series, films, manga, video games, and model kits.

Gundam model kits, or "Gunpla", are particularly popular among fans in Australia.
